Transit: Prelude Illustrated short story, published 1992 Doctor: 0
featuring Lethbridge-Stewart, UNIT
Written by Ben Aaronovitch.
Informed guess Takes place amongst mountains in Russia; from
Lethbridge-Stewart’s mental state here and in The King of Terror, some time
after 2050 CE. Bambera and Ancelyn seem to be in exceptional physical condition
given their age, but if they have access to the technology of Morgaine’s
continuum, they might well be. A reference to an exploding mountain in the USA
suggests that this was meant to be contemporary with Warhead, but it was written before Lethbridge-Stewart got a new lease of life
in Happy Endings.
Rally of the Quarks Comic story, published 1969 Doctor: 2
featuring the Quarks
Illustrated ?and
written by John Canning.
Takes place between London and Brighton; self-dated 2053 CE. In this
year, the London to Brighton Vintage car rally is watched by extraterrestrials
in hovering spaceships. I suspect that these are invisible to Tellurians, in
which case, perhaps it always has been.
Paprika (2006). Set
not too far in the future, this film envisages technology to enter and engineer
dreams. Transit tells us that Japan dominated technological progress
in the later twenty-first century: I think this is a handy place to insert this
into Doctor Who narrative.
The Terrorkon Harvest Comic story, published 1966 Doctor: 0
featuring the Daleks
Written by Angus Allan, Allen Fennel, Terry Nation and David Whitaker.
Informed guess Takes place on Skaro, some time after Menace of the Monstrons. The Golden Emperor expresses concern that the
Daleks might have to evacuate their “fine city”, consistent with its having
been recently rebuilt after the Monstron invasion.
