Then: The Chronarchy and the Doctor’s Timeline: The Doctor’s Fifth Incarnation

(Say, a hundred and eighteen years. The Doctor announces that he is nine hundred in Revelation of the Daleks. Peri’s appearance is consistent with this being about a year after his fifth regeneration. Eight hundred and ninety-nine minus seven hundred and eighty-one is one hundred and eighteen. The Doctor spends considerable time with Nyssa, but Trakenites may age more slowly than Tellurians: certainly Nyssa’s culture has access to technology in advance of twentieth century Earth. Also, the comic stories in the Doctor Who Monthly/Doctor Who Magazine establish that the Doctor spent time on his own, presumably having “parked” Nyssa somewhere. Additionally, Borusa has regenerated twice between The Invasion of Time and The Five Doctors.)

The Mara is/are a lifeform or paralifeform from the Dark Places of the Inside that possess people, at one point possessing much or all of the humanoid population of the planet Manussa and using them to run an interstellar empire by proxy. Catalogue of Events   Illustrated short story, published 1983                  Doctor: 5

featuring the Time Lords

Written by Alan McKenzie.

Informed guess Possibly shortly before The Stockbridge Horror, giving the Matrix Rassilon a reason for ordering the Doctor’s arrest and trial; assuming that it is the Matrix Rassilon, and that this is in a contemporary Gallifreyan time frame. It could be the Doctor’s past (or future) and it could be the still-living Rassilon, a long way in the Doctor’s past. But I’m assuming it’s contemporary to him. Nyssa and Tegan have left the TARDIS.

Featuring Brooke, River Song
