featuring the
Cybermen, Ace
Written by Mike Tucker and Robert Perry.
Takes place in London and on Jersey; self-dated November, 1940 CE. The “Tiger”
tank on Jersey is wildly anachronistic. Perhaps in this case “Tiger” is a
nickname for a captured Char B1, an enormous French tank model that the Germans
did indeed deploy in the Channel Islands.

Victory of the Daleks
TV story, broadcast 2010 Doctor: 11
Featuring the Daleks, Winston Churchill, Amy
Written
by Mark Gatiss, script supervised by Steven Moffat.
Informed guess Takes
place in and above London; self-dated 1941 CE, and during the London Blitz. It
is a “month” after Churchill called the Doctor: a plausible occasion of
Churchill’s calling the Doctor would be the exceptionally destructive German
raid of 29th December 1940, so, a month after that.

Incongruous Details
Short story, published 2006 Doctor: 6
featuring Edward Grainger, UNIT, the Mim
Written by Simon Guerrier.
Informed guess Takes place in the London Blitz. It is self-dated before May 1940, but
the Blitz had not started at that point: I suggest this is a misprint and the
correct date is before May 1941 CE.
The
Renaissance Man Audio drama, released 2012 Doctor: 4

published 2015 Doctor: 12
Featuring the
Sontarans, the Rutan, Clara

Takes place in Libya;
self-dated December 1941 CE. The TARDIS translation circuits are evidently
playing up, because Rommel is addressed as “field-marshal”; at this point, he
was still a General der Panzertruppen, two ranks junior.

Timebenders Comic story,
published 1971 Doctor: 3
Written by Dennis Hooper.
Takes place in France
and on Dartmoor; a calendar, I think not turned over very recently, shows
January 1942 CE, There is no historical record of PzkwVI “Tiger” tanks being
deployed in France in that year, but their first appearance in active service
took place outside Leningrad in August. We may suppose that one has found its
way into Spiegal’s hands by autumn. Spiegal wears an SS tunic but a regular
army cap badge, which is a bit affectatious of him. Presumably, in newly
occupied Vichy France, he is well away from senior officers who might pull him
up about it. He is described as a Captain, and is presumably an SS-Hauptsturmfuehrer.
The Beast of Stalingrad Novella, published 2015 Doctor: 0

haemovores as a variety of vampire.

different genre to it, relating to Doctor Who narrative in form as well as
content.

Written by Steve
Parkhouse.
Takes place on a small
Pacific island in an alternative timeline. The date given (in Four-Dimensional
Vistas) is 1963 CE, but the aircraft design suggests the Pacific campaign of
World War II. I’m assuming that the calendar got out of synch in this timeline,
and that it’s actually the early mid-forties.
Autumn Mist Novel, published 1999 Doctor:
8
Featuring Sam,
Fitz, with ? the Second War in Heaven
Written by David A
McIntee.
Takes place in the
Ardennes, a forested region on the borders of France, Belgium, Luxembourg and
Germany; self-dated December 1944 CE. Sam thinks that the Celestis have taken

aspect of the Celestis.
