Then Again: The Second Kilocentury
First Person Charity short
story, published 1999 Doctors: 7, 8
Written by
Philip Purser-Hallard.
Takes place in the nebular Co-operative, ninety-eight thousand years
after its founders seceded from an Earth-based empire. I think the first
Tellurian empire is implied, putting this in the first millennium of the second
kilocentury CE.
The Genesis Chamber Audio
adaptation of an unproduced TV script, released 2016 Doctor:
4
Featuring Leela
Adapted by Marc Platt from a script by Philip Hinchcliffe.
Informed guess Takes place on a long-settled world in Tellurian space, at a time of considerable
technological development.
Ten Fathom Pirates Illustrated short story, published 1966
Doctor: 1
Written
by the World Distributors Annual 1967 crew.
Informed guess Takes place on an unnamed planet with humanoid inhabitants,
which has had cultural contact with Tellurians.
The Final Analysis Illustrated short story, published 1995 Doctor: 4
featuring
Romana
Written by Gareth Roberts.
Informed guess Takes place in Krannendale, in Earth’s far future.
The Fate Of The Earth
Earth has been “left behind” by interstellar
culture, and its “several million” inhabitants are seeking collective
psychotherapy.
The Masters of Luxor Script
of an unproduced TV story, published 1992
Doctor: 1
featuring
Susan, Barbara, Ian
Written by Anthony Coburn.
Arbitrary placement
Takes place on a moon of
Luxor.
The Eye of Torment Comic story,
published 2014 Doctor:
12
Featuring Clara
Written by Scott Gray.
Informed guess Takes place in the Solar System; self-dated the Ninth Era. An Era
sounds like a long time, and it is not a chronological system mentioned
elsewhere. My suggestion is that it refers to times when Earth is inhabitable,
so the First Era would be up to the evacuation described in The Keep, the Second Era would be
from the Earth’s resettlement in the late sixth millennium to its evacuation in
the tenth, the Third from its resettlement following The Sontaran Experiment to the abandonment mentioned in Planet
of Evil and so on. Allowing for the planet’s
viability to have calmed down a bit after the early first kilocentury, I’m
setting the Ninth Era in the mid-second.
The Soul Garden Comic story,
published 2017 Doctor:
12
Featuring Bill, with Japan (informative mention)
Written by Scott Gray.
Informed guess Takes place on Titan, not long after
The Eye of Torment.
The 1969 film The Illustrated Man is set in an
indeterminate future in which Venus has been terraformed. There is, unsurprisingly,
no indication if Venus is still in the Calypso V system or whether it has been
returned to the Solar System.
Planet of Fear Illustrated short story, published 1981 Doctor: 5
featuring
Adric
Written by the World Distributors Annual 1982 crew.
Arbitrary placement
Takes place on Ixos-4.
Snake Bite Audio story, released 2012 Doctor: 11
Featuring Amy or an Amy ganger,
Rory
Written by Scott Handcock.
Arbitrary placement Takes place in Tellurian space; self-described as “the far future”.
Planet of the Bunnoids Short story,
published 2000 Doctor: 1
featuring
Vicki, Steven
Written by Harriet Green.
Arbitrary placement
Takes place on an unnamed
planet.
Nightdreamers Novella,
published 2002 Doctor: 3
featuring
Jo
Written by Tom Arden.
Arbitrary placement Takes place on Verd, colonised by humanoids presumably of Tellurian descent.
Attack of the Daleks Comic story,
published 1968 Doctor: 2
featuring
the Daleks, Gillian, John
Written by an anonymous Polystyle writer.
Arbitrary placement
Takes place on an unnamed
planet. I’m assuming that these are time-travelling Daleks and that the date is
not correlated to their position in Dalek history.
The Resurrection Casket Novel,
published 2006 Doctor: 10
Featuring Rose
Written by Justin Richards.
Informed guess Takes place on and near Starfall. A reference
to Kronkburgers very tentatively suggests a temporal proximity to The Long Game.
Scream of the Silent Illustrated short story, published 1988 Doctor: 7
Written
anonymously.
Informed guess Takes place on Tya, during an era of Tellurian
interstellar expansion; plausibly the Fourth Great and Bountiful Earth Empire.
The Tribulations of Thadeus Nook Audio drama, released 2021 Doctor: 4
Featuring
Leela
Written
by Andrew Smith.
Takes
place variously, including Normandy and Texas, but pivotally in Tellurian
space. There is another reference to Kronkburgers, so I am again placing this
story near The Long Game.
Strictly Fight Monsters Comic story,
published 2013 Doctor: 11
Featuring Clara
Written by Simon Guerrier.
Arbitrary placement Takes place on Anclodupon.
Final Sacrifice Comic story,
published 2010 Doctor: 10
Featuring
Torchwood, Emily, Matthew, with
Captain Jack (informative mention)
Written by Tony Lee.
Informed guess Takes place briefly in Oxford but mostly on an
unnamed planet on which Tellurian-descended colonists have lived for thousands
of years.
The Hesitation Deviation Audio short
story, released 2016 Doctor: 7
Featuring Benny
Written by James Goss.
Arbitrary placement Takes place on an unnamed planet: Christmas is being celebrated.
Chime Time Comic story,
published 2014 Doctors:
12, with 1 (glimpse)
Featuring Clara
Written by Craig Donaghy.
Arbitrary placement Takes place on the planet of the Sibro.
