Then Again: The Sixth Aeon
A Rose By Any Other Name Short story, published 2004 Doctor: ?9
Featuring
?Rose
Written by Jim Mortimore.
Takes place mostly on Earth, five hundred million
years before what the narrator takes to be the Sun going nova. The Doctor’s
incarnation and the name of his young female companion are left coyly unstated:
with the story’s title and date of publication, I believe Jim Mortimore is
cheekily tweaking copyright rules to give us a ninth Doctor story in a Big
Finish anthology.
The
Fate Of The Earth
Humanity on Earth has largely died out, owing to
apathy, leaving behind many millions of sentient suits.
Cortex Fire Audio drama,
released 2017 Doctor: 6
Featuring Flip
Written by Ian Potter.
Arbitrary placement Takes place in the city of Festin.
The Armageddon
Gambit Comic story,

Written by John Freeman.
Arbitrary placement Takes place on Trath.
The Rings of Akhaten TV
story, broadcast 2013 Doctor: 11
Featuring Clara
Written by Neil Cross, script
supervised by Steven Moffat.
Informed guess Takes place mostly on Tiaanamat. The presence of what appears to be a
member of the same species as the Ambassadors of the City-State of Binding
Light suggests a time not too distant from The End of the World.
The Body Bank Illustrated
short story, published 2007 Doctor: 10
Featuring the Chelonians, Martha
Written by Gareth Roberts.
Takes place on Fraxinos; self-dated two hundred thousand years before Gridlock.
Who Ate All the Biscuits? Web comic,
posted 2008 Doctor: 10

The End of the World TV story, broadcast 2005 Doctor:
9
Featuring
Rose, Cassandra, with the Face of Boe (glimpse)
Written by Russell T Davies.
Takes place in the Solar System, in the year
5.5/Apple/26, “five billion years” after the early twenty-first century CE. I
speculate that ‘Apple’ is a designated century in the fifty-sixth deciaeon,
presumably part of a million-word cycle, and this is its twenty-seventh year.
The
Fate Of The Earth
The Earth is finally destroyed by the Sun, having
been preserved for many years by the National Trust.

Agent Provocateur Comic story, published 2008 Doctor:
10
Featuring
Martha
Written by Gary Russell.
Takes place variously, after The End of the World, the latest date
being 5,000,000,000, clearly on the post-Tellurian calendar.

Agent Provocateur.

Takes place on New Earth, shortly before New Earth.
New Earth TV
story, broadcast 2006 Doctor: 10
Featuring
Rose, Cassandra, with Mickey, the Face
of Boe (glimpse)
Written by Russell T Davies.
Takes place on New Earth, shortly after The End of the World. The date is given as 5,000,000,023; this is possibly a new calendar
for post-Tellurian space, in which the year of the Earth’s destruction was
designated 5,000,000,000. An alternative suggestion is that this is a
pre-existing calendar dating from the sixth deciaeon, which is why I placed Watershed there, marking the point where engineered post-humans – by now far
outnumbering the unmodified version - became serious about colonising the
entire universe.
Gridlock TV story, broadcast 2007 Doctor: 10
Featuring the Macra, the Face of
Boe, Martha
Written by Russell T Davies.
Takes place on New Earth; self-dated
5,000,000,053.
In-Flight
Entertainment Web comic, posted 2008 Doctor: 10
Featuring the
Cybermen, the Macra, Martha, the Judoon
Written by Lindsey Alford.
Takes place on New Earth;
self-dated 5,000,000,57. These are surely time-travelling Cybermen, long past
their native eventuality. (The Judoon are presumably time-travellers as part of
their job description).

The Silent Stars Go By Novel, published 2011 Doctor: 11

Informed guess Takes place on Hereafter, several generations

Written by Paul Cornell and John Freeman.
Arbitrary placement Takes place in an art gallery.
