Philip Jose Farmer’s 1979 novel Dark Is The Sun is set in 1.5 x 1010
CE, on a planet its inhabitants believe to be Earth. Its sun has gone,
its moon has been ignited as an orbiting sun, and also died, and the planet
moved to another stellar system. Solid material might have been formed into
position to form a new planet in a comparable orbit around Sol, I suppose.
Perhaps it is the New Earth seen in New
Earth, which by this time could have been a home to Tellurians for at least
twice as long as the original was.

Informed guess Takes place at
the Tollbooth, sometime after the later section of Delta
and the Bannermen, which Parkin dates as the far future but before
the Vulgar End of Time in Ahistory.
Darrell Schweitzer’s 1983 novel The Shattered Goddess is set not only a
long way into the future but is equipped with a long past, provided with a
succession of ages shaped by unique presiding deities. I speculate that it may
be the “Earth” of Dark is the Sun,

Matthew Hughes’s 2001 novel Gullible’s Travels and its sequels were written partly as a
tribute to Jack Vance’s Dying Earth
stories, and are set on the same “Earth” in the “age” before.
